National Hybrid Workshop on Horizon Europe – Africa Initiative
The National Hybrid Workshop on Horizon Europe – Africa Initiative held in Kenya was organised to strengthen awareness and practical understanding of European Union funding opportunities, with a specific focus on the Horizon Europe Programme. The workshop brought together researchers, innovators, and institutional stakeholders to explore mechanisms for participation in international research collaborations and to enhance access to competitive EU funding schemes supporting Africa–Europe cooperation.
DIGITAfrica was represented by project partner Strathmore University, which participated in the workshop and engaged with the national research and innovation community. The event provided an opportunity to deepen understanding of Horizon Europe instruments and to support the broader objective of strengthening Africa–Europe research collaboration through improved access to funding and project development capacities.
The workshop contributed to increasing awareness of international funding opportunities among Kenyan researchers and innovators, while also supporting DIGITAfrica’s visibility within the regional research and innovation ecosystem.
