About the event

TAIMA is a biennial international conference dedicated to data processing, analysis, and learning for signals and images. The conference provides a forum for presenting cutting-edge research, innovative methodologies, and practical applications across a wide range of scientific and technological domains, including biomedical imaging, remote sensing, telecommunications, cultural heritage, and emerging digital technologies.

The 2026 edition also featured TAIMA Entreprise, a dedicated session promoting dialogue between researchers and companies, encouraging knowledge exchange and the development of collaborative initiatives between academia and industry.

On the opening day of the conference, the DIGITAfrica partner, the University of Manouba (UMA), presented the project during the TAIMA Entreprise session with the talk:

Towards a Sustainable Digital Research Infrastructure for Africa–Europe (DIGITAfrica)

The presentation introduced the project’s vision of strengthening digital research collaboration between Africa and Europe through the development of a sustainable digital research infrastructure. It presented DIGITAfrica’s objectives and mission, highlighting its contribution to research capacity development, community building, digital innovation, and the creation of a lasting impact on Africa–Europe research collaboration.

The conference offered an excellent opportunity to engage with researchers, technology experts, and industry stakeholders, increasing the visibility of the project and fostering new opportunities for collaboration.
