NetIAS Debates: Computational Practices for Pluriversal AI
The NetIAS Debates: Computational Practices for Pluriversal AI is part of the NetIAS Debates series, an international forum that brings together researchers and institutions to reflect on emerging challenges in science, technology, and society through interdisciplinary dialogue.
The online 2025 session focused on computational practices for pluriversal Artificial Intelligence, exploring alternative and more inclusive approaches to AI development beyond dominant paradigms.
DIGITAfrica was represented by project partners Mandat International, Sorbonne University, and the University of Ngaoundéré, who actively participated in the debate. During the session, the partners delivered the presentation “Developing a Pan-African Research Infrastructure – DIGITAfrica”, showcasing the project’s vision and ongoing efforts to build a sustainable and collaborative research infrastructure across Africa.
The event provided an important platform for exchanging ideas on pluriversal AI and strengthened DIGITAfrica’s visibility within the international research community.
