SATNAC 2025
The Southern Africa Telecommunication Networks and Applications Conference (SATNAC) 2025 is one of Africa’s leading ICT and telecommunications conferences, bringing together researchers, industry experts, and policymakers to discuss advances in networking technologies, digital infrastructure, and emerging communication systems. The conference provides a key platform for showcasing innovative research and fostering collaboration between academia, industry, and government stakeholders in the field of telecommunications.
DIGITAfrica was represented by project partners University of Cape Town and TU Berlin, who actively participated in the event. During the conference, the team was awarded the Best Paper Award for the publication entitled “Building a Low-Cost Cloud-Native 5G Network Slicing Experimental Testbed: Open-Source Solutions, Lessons Learned and Future Directions”, highlighting the project’s contribution to cutting-edge research in 5G network experimentation and cloud-native infrastructures.
The participation in SATNAC 2025 strengthened DIGITAfrica’s visibility within the ICT research community and reinforced its role in advancing innovative, scalable, and collaborative approaches to next-generation telecommunications systems.
