IndabaX Cameroon 2026

The IndabaX Cameroon 2026 is one of the most dynamic AI community events in Africa, bringing together researchers, students, and innovators committed to advancing Artificial Intelligence across the continent. The event serves as a key platform for knowledge exchange, capacity building, and community-driven innovation in AI and machine learning.

DIGITAfrica was represented by project partner University of Ngaoundéré, which actively participated in the event and contributed to discussions on emerging AI approaches. During the programme, the DIGITAfrica Edge Interoperable AI & ML Blueprint was presented, introducing an open-source, Africa-led framework for deploying AI services at the edge in real-world environments such as rural clinics, farms, schools, and research laboratories.

The Blueprint highlights key features including the ability to run full AI/ML workflows (training, inference, and federated learning) without cloud dependency, ensuring that data remains local to preserve privacy and sovereignty. It is designed to scale from small edge devices to large federated infrastructures and is being deployed across multiple partner countries, including Cameroon, South Africa, Senegal, Kenya, and Tunisia.

The participation strengthened DIGITAfrica’s visibility within the African AI ecosystem and contributed to knowledge exchange within the community.
